A tense situation arose in the Visakhapatnam region after a flyover collapsed due to a side pillar on Tuesday. After the flyover collapsed and fell on the passing vehicles, a few vehicles were severely damaged while two passengers died on the spot.
Going into details, the incident took place on the National Highway near Anakapalle Y Junction on Tuesday. It is said that the side pillar of the flyover, which is in the construction stage, developed cracks that triggered the flyover to collapse.
The other passengers ran away from the structure after the flyover fell. The rescue personnel rushed to the spot to rescue the victims. The rescue operations are underway and more details are awaited.
