Bhavana Case rocks Kerala Assembly
By: Tupaki Desk | 27 Feb 2017 3:36 PM GMTThe abduction and molestation of Actress Bhavana rocked the Kerala assembly on Monday. Opposition Parties Congress-UDF raised the matter during the Zero Hour and accused State Government lacking the sincerity over safety of women. As the ruling & opposition members began arguing, Speaker adjourned the House for a brief period. A meeting chaired by Speaker to reach a consensus for smooth proceedings failed.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan condemned the charges levelled by the Opposition Parties. He claimed the arrest of the prime accused Pulsar Suni is an indication of his Government's commitment. He accused Congress & UDF have been politicising the issue.
Mr.Pinarayi informed the House that SIT has been given free hand in the investigation of Bhavana's case. He ruled out the allegations of conspiracy behind the sexual assault of the actress.
In response, Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala alleged: 'CM himself declared there is no conspiracy even before the investigation ended. Which means, The probe has been ended abruptly'.
