PM Modi Chairs Meeting On Covid-19 Vaccine Progress And Roll-Out Strategy

In the wake of this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has chaired a review meeting to monitor the progress of the vaccine and to discuss a strategy on how to roll-out the vaccine for the public.
Going by Narendra Modi's tweet, the meeting discussed crucial aspects like prioritising population groups, regulatory approvals, and the procurement of the vaccines.
'Reviewed various issues like prioritisation of population groups, reaching out to HCWs, cold-chain Infrastructure augmentation, adding vaccinators and tech platform for vaccine roll-out,' Modi's tweet read.
The review meeting came days after, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said that the vaccine can be rolled out by early 2021 and the government is preparing a strategy to roll out the vaccine.
Globally too the vaccine trials are in full swing. Going by the speed of the vaccine trials the vaccines to cure respiratory disease is likely to be manufactured by the mid of 2021.
So far, a total of 9,050,598 patients have been diagnosed with the ongoing pandemic in India. While 8,478,124 patients have been recovered, the active cases in the nation stood at 439,747.
