Independence Day: PM Modi Unfurled National Flag At Red Fort

Marking the 74th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached the Rajghat and paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi as part of the Independence Day celebrations.
After reaching the iconic Red Fort, Narendra Modi received the Guard of Honour contingent and unfurled the National Flag.
He then addressed the nation from the Red Fort which marks his seventh consecutive Independence speech. Narendra Modi is the non-Congress PM to render speech for seven consecutive times.
As per the pandemic norms, a very limited number of guests were invited for the celebrations and around 4,000 guests were invited for the Independence Day celebrations.
The 4,000 attendees include more than 1500 people who recovered from the ongoing pandemic as a symbol to fight the contagious disease.
