Polavaram to Be Named After NTR!

The government of Andhra Pradesh is on a name change drive with plans change names of present schemes as well as upcoming schemes/projects.With change of government at Centre, naturally swift changes are expected on various things. If reports to be believe prestigious Polavaram could likely be named on former CM and TDP founder NT Ramarao who was the first person to initiate the project during late 80s.
According to source the state government is contemplating on two names.The government wants to change its name from Polavaram project to either NTR Sagar or Tarakarama Sagar.AP govt also considering the options to rename the Shamshabad airport after NTR and it is seeking the NDA government help to do so. TDP had been consistently making this demand before the inauguration of the airport in March 2008 and even organised protests. The partyÂ’s argument was NTRÂ’s name was already there when the airport was at Begumpet.
Not only above 'Amma Hastham' programme of Congress government also likely to be renamed as NTR Praja Pampini Pathakam (NTR public distribution scheme).And Arogyasri scheme will have NTR health cards not the otherwise Rajiv Arogyasri health cards.
