Lady Singham receives Transfer Order

Shrestha Thakur, the woman cop in Syana Cycle in Bulandshahar District, who didn't succumb to the pressure of local BJP Leaders was transferred to Bahraich on Saturday.
On June 22nd, Shrestha Thakur & her Team were checking vehicles in Syana area. A fine of Rs 200 was imposed on a person driving a two wheeler without helmet though he introduced himself as BJP Leader Pramod Kumar who's wife is a member of Jila Panchayat in Bulandshahar. She asked Pramod Kumar to bring a written order from UP CM that police have no right to check vehicles. Following a heated argument, Pramod Kumar informed other BJP Leaders about the matter. Later, BJP Activists arrived to the spot and found fault with the police action. In connection with this episode, Thakur sent five people to jail on charges of obstructing a public servant from discharging her duties. It was with this incident she became quite popular nationwide as Lady Singham.
BJP Leaders involved in the incident mounted pressure on High Command to transfer Shrestha Thakur citing it's a matter of party's pride.
