Police shoot at chain snatchers, but escape on bike in Hyd

In a shocking incident Police opened fire at a bike-borne chain snatcher duo at Vanasthalipuram on Monday. However, the accused managed to escape from the scene and police launched a hunt to nab them. Shoot-at-sight orders are issued against them.

Chain snatchers were on the prowl at various places in the city on Monday.The incident occurred at around 11.10 AM in when one woman Sai Anuradha was walking towards her house after withdrawing amount from ATM. Two youth came on a bike from the opposite direction and attempted to snatch her gold chain. The alerted woman pushed the miscreants away and shouted for help.

Constables fired two rounds on them and chased the culprits but they managed to escape. Soon after the incident the police took up massive vehicle checking operation in the surrounding areas to nab the offenders.

Meanwhile Cyberabad police has formed 55 anti-snatching teams and they are getting training from professional bikers to nab the culprits. Increasing number of chain snatching cases by biker gangs in twin cities have been terrifying women.
