X
The threat by Uttarakhand DGP Anil Kumar Raturi that those Tablighi Jamaati activists, who are hiding in mosques, should surrender within 24 hours or face the consequences, seems to be paying off. As many as 181 Tablighis who had participated in the Markaz meeting in Delhi but were hiding in mosques, had surrendered to the police. They have been sent for isolation and Corona tests.

The DGP said that those who do not present themselves before the police would be charged under sections relating to attempt to murder. While as many as 181 have surrendered, several are still at large. The police have booked them for attempt to murder. Of the 181, 151 are from Hardwar, while 12 are from Nainital, nine from Dehradun and seven from Pauri Garhwal in Uttarakhand.

So far the police have identified 708 Tablighis. In that 383 were those from Uttarakhand and are now preaching in other states. As many as 325 are from other states, but are currently preaching in Uttarakhand. These people have landed in Uttarakhand straight from Markaz in Nizamuddin of Delhi, where the controversial meet was held despite the government ban.
