Police Used Lathis To Disperse Huge Crowd At Bandra Station

In the view of rising COVID-19 cases in India, the government has extended the lockdown period to the third of May. With this, thousands of migrant workers in Maharashtra had gathered at Bandra station to protest against the lock down-extension.

Among the crowd, most of the people wanted to go to their native places and others wanted a proper food and shelter to stay there. Along with these people, the people from slums close to that area also joined the protest demanding food.

Apparently, Maharashtra has the most number of coronavirus cases than any other state in the country. At these crucial times, people should take more safety measures to save themselves from the virus. But here the people had gathered in huge numbers, neglecting the social distancing and other measures.

The police warned them multiple times, but they continued their protest. With no other option in hand, the police had used their lathis to make them disperse. However, this is a fact that the daily labour and migrant workers were badly hit due to the lockdown.
