AP: Roadroller Crushes Liquor Bottles Worth Rs 72 Lakh

As promised during the election campaign to ban liquor in the state, Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is not leaving any stone unturned to ban liquor be it cutting short the liquor outlets and removing the lion share of permit rooms.
Post lockout, the government increased the liquor prices so that alcohol lovers will gradually stop buying liquor. Even many liquor outlets were also closed post-lockout.
The government is also imposing an iron first on the illegal liquor being transported to the state from neighboring states. As part of this, police had seized illegal liquor worth around Rs 72 lakhs.
The excise department decided to destroy the illicit liquor and made a road roller crush the 14,000 liquor bottles which were smuggled into the state. The video became instantly viral.
It has been widely reported that the illegal liquor was seized in various checkpoints. Smugglers who made a failed attempt to bring the liquor into the state were booked.
