Poll strategists wrecking lives of traditional politicians

Why are the politicians, who rise from the grassroots level through years of efforts and struggles, falling prey to the so-called poll wizards? These politicians with years of experience and a finger on the pulse of the people are now doing whatever the self-styled poll strategists are saying. The poll strategists are coming in various hues and shades and are making good with huge amounts towards fees and other charges.
The poll strategists are devising and designing campaigns that are driving a wedge between castes and communities. They are using social media to spread misinformation about parties, candidates, incidents and events. These scars remain even after the elections are gone.
Unfortunately, these poll strategists are weakening the traditional politicians and the conventional political system. In the name of surveys, they are confusing the traditional politicians. These surveys are taken as gospel truths by the political bosses without any question or cross verification. As a result, the careers of promising politicians are coming to an inglorious end.
Why do political bosses with such vast experience and grassroot level connect falling prey to these poll strategists? These IITians and foreign-returned poll strategists are now being relied upon by the political bosses. It's about time that the political parties and leaders come out of this mindset and trust their instincts.
