A student leader was arrested on rape charges based on a complaint. After a lot of fight, he got bail. But the accused did not have the luck to have free air outside as the Supreme Court had canceled his bail and directed him to surrender and kept a deadline of one week for this.

The issue sheds light on how the rape accused gets a good reception from a few people. As soon as the accused was granted bail, posters and banners were erected welcoming him. The posters addressed the rape accused as Bhaiyya and Janeman. This did not go well with the Apex Court.

Going into detail, a student leader from Madhya Pradesh was arrested recently for reportedly raping and making her pregnant. The victim reportedly underwent an abortion. She had filed a case against the accused who comes from a big and influential family. He was granted bail by the Madhya Pradesh High Court back in November last year.

Soon after the accused was released on bail, posters and banners were set up welcoming him back. Unhappy with this, the girl had knocked on the doors of the Supreme Court, and the bench of judges heard the petition.

The bench of the Supreme Court led by Chief Justice of India NV Ramana, which also comprises justices Krishna Murari and Hima Kohli heard the petition. During the arguments, the bench said that the way the accused arrival is celebrated sends the wrong intention and the victim might fear that the case trial might get impacted by his release.

The Bench further said that the celebrations shed light on how powerful the accused and his family are in society. Their powerful position might show its impact on the case. With the accused receiving bail, it becomes more complicated. Why the accused was released on bail within two months of getting arrested, the bench asked.

As a piece of good news to the victim, the Supreme Court's bench issued directives that the accused should surrender within one week or else he might have to face the consequences. The accused enjoys a good following among the youth as he is a youth wing leader in his area.
