Prakasam ZP Chairman Disqualified

In an unexpected Twist ,Prakasam District Collector Vijaya Kumar on Monday disqualified zilla parishad chairman Eedara Haribabu on charges of violating the party whip.The decision of the collector came after TDPÂ’S complaint on the leader .With this, Haribabu lost his post of ZP chairman along with ZPTC membership
Haribabu won as ZPTC on behalf of TDP. But, he contested as an independent candidate and became the ZP chairman with the support of YSRCP in the election held on July 13.
There were nerve-racking moments happened during the election to Prakasam ZP chairman post as both the TDP and the YSRC had equal numbers of ZPTCs (28 each). Several twists and turns took place during the polls as both the parties had equal strength. There are total 56 ZPTCs in Prakasam, YSRC won 31 and TDP 25.The TDPÂ’s strength has increased to 28 after the defection of 3 YSRC ZPTC members.
Soon after that the TDP has named its candidate Manne Ravindra for the ZP chairmanÂ’s post. Suddenly, TDP ZPTC Edara Haribabu, violating his partyÂ’s whip, contested for the chairman post as an independent and won the election with the support of YSRC. YSRC member Balaji was elected as vice-chairman of Prakasam ZP.
Haribabu claims that he did not receive the whip from TDP and so there is no question of violating it.
