Pramila Jayapal created history as the first Indian-American and first South Asian Woman to make it to the US Senate. She won the seat from the Washington's 7th Congressional District to reserve her berth in the House of Representatives.

The 51-year-old received 57 percent votes. Whereas, Her nearest opponent Brady Walkinshaw secured only 43 percent votes.

Pramila Jayapal, an India-born, migrated to US when she was 16-Years-Old. Following the 9/11 terror attack, She began the organization 'Hate Free Zone' and renamed it as 'OneAmerica' after few years to fight for immigrants living in USA.

After getting elected to the Washington State Senate in 2014, Pramila announced her decision to be in race for US Senate. Democratic Party presidential aspirant Bernie Sanders, Members of US Congress & NGOs have extended support to her.

Speaking to media after creating history, Pramila promised to fight for LGBTQ rights, Terrorism, Women's Rights, Global Warming and among others.
