American Navy Veteran Adam Purinton killing an Indian engineer Srinivas Kuchibhotla and wounding two others (Alok Madasani, Ian Grillot) on Wednesday night at the Austins Bar & Grill in Olathe City of Kansas state has triggered an massive outrage.
Indian-American MPs told hate crime shouldn't be tolerated at any cost. California Senator Kamal Harris: 'The hate crime in Kansas is very unfortunate. My heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased. We have the responsibility to ensure hatred doesn't emerge victorious'.
Congress-Woman Parimala Jayapal said: 'I am worried about the bereaved family…It's heart-breaking. Can't tolerate hate crimes in US'.
Srinivas Kuchibhotla is an engineer working for Swiss-based navigation devise maker Garmin in Kansas. On its Facebook page, Garmin wrote: 'Srinivas was a valued member of our engineering team and will be greatly missed'.
In memory of Srinivas Kuchibhotla, A candle light demonstration took place at the First Baptist Church of Olathe across the road from the bar where the hate crime took place.
