By: Tupaki Desk | 26 April 2015 2:51 PM GMTA 42-Year-Old Woman Kamarapu Laxmi who is nine-months pregnant ran for a distance of 5 kilometers at Ambedkar Stadium to make it to the record books. This is her second delivery and she made a courageous move for multiple reasons which include setting a new record, cause of protection of girl child and extending solidarity with Telangana government's prestigious Mission Kakatiya programme.
Kamarapu Laxmi's feat has been promoted with the slogan 'peth mein ladki ko bachao – gaon mein taalab ko bachao' (save child in mother's womb and the irrigation tank in village). Organisers even arranged ambulance and medical staff to ensure the mother and baby were safe. Laxmi completed the 5 km run in 30 minutes and 20 seconds. Now, the details of this feat has been sent to Guinness Book of Records.
Notably, Laxmi achieved the same feat even before her first delivery for a safe and normal delivery.
