The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced that all H1-B petitions will be accepted from April 2 but it has also announced the suspension of premium processing of H1-B petitions.

The suspension of premium processing of all H1-B petitions are subjected to the annual caps. The suspension may continue until September 10, 2018. But USCIS also revealed that they will continue to accept premium processing requests of H1-B requests that are not subject to fiscal 2019 cap. USCIS said that if a petitioner meets expedited criteria, he may submit a request to expedite an FY 2019 cap-subject H1-B petition. USCIS mentioned that the suspension is imposed to reduce the H1-B processing time.

H1-B visa has an annual limit of 65,000 visas each fiscal year. As per the figures released by USCIS, it has received 2.2 million H1-B petitions from high-skilled Indians during 2007-2017. China stood in the second place with 301,000 petitions during the same period.
