President Polls: TDP Wants to Be Friends with BJP Again?
X
The Presidential polls date is fast approaching. It is barely one week for the election date and the polls will be held on the 18th of this month. Bharatiya Janata Party's National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the opposition parties are not leaving any stone unturned to gather the required support.

The election episode has already turned interesting as we are getting to see unexpected scenes like rival parties coming together. The grand-old Congress party and TRS which are rivals have kept their issues aside and came forward to support former Prime Minister Yashwant Sinha, fielded by the opposition parties.

In another interesting scene, the opposition party in Andhra Pradesh, Telugu Desam Party announced its support for Draupadi Murmu, BJP's candidate for the Presidential polls. After a big brainstorming session, the TDP opted for Murmu.

Though the grand old party said that it is supporting Murmu given the community she hails from, political experts say that the Telugu Desam Party wants to put an end to the issues it has with the saffron party Bharatiya Janata Party.

It appears like the TDP wants to come into the good books of the mighty BJP and the party wants to use the Presidential polls for that. The surprising fact is that the BJP did not ask TDP to support Murmu in the polls and the party supported Murmu on its own.

Telugu Desam Party has been a friendly party with the saffron party BJP for many years. With the same friendship, both parties made an alliance long with Pawan Kalyan's Janasena for the 2014 general elections and formed the government.

But BJP and TDP parted ways after TDP waged a war against the saffron party saying that the party did not respect the interests of the divided Andhra Pradesh, which was divided without a proper capital.

Later, things changed ugly for both parties and TDP tried to use the anti-BJP stand in politics which backfired massively. With this, BJP made it clear that doors are closed to TDP and there is no chance for the party to be a friend with it again.
