What kind of precautions the government should take when high-level VIPs visit? They should take care of the safety of the visitors. AP government is facing criticism on a similar issue now. President of India Ramnath Kovind's wife Smt. Savita and his daughter Ms. Swathi recently visited AP capital Amaravati.
The officials arranged a boat ride from Punnami Ghat to Bhavani Island in a private boat which doesn't have permission. There was no roof for the boat and both had to sit under the hot sun. This has attracted criticism from all quarters.
They have brought them back on AP Tourism boat on the return journey. President's wife reportedly told them on the return journey that they should have taken them on the AP Tourism boat while they were going to Bhavani Island as well.
We all know that the boat tragedy has taken many lives in the recent past and government faced brickbats for the carelessness. In such a situation, Chandrababu government didn't learn any lesson from those mistakes.
On the other hand, the officials escorted President's wife and daughter to the Kanakadurga temple on Indrakeeladri. While she was returning from the temple she lost control at the entrance where iron ramps were erected, but the staff immediately helped her to regain her balance. The officials had a sigh of relief as she didn't fall in the temple.
