Press Council Of India Notices To AP Govt & DGP

Press Council found serious fault and objection with the police summoning the Sakshi corespondents to police station. The PCI took up the case suo motu basis and said such acts of the police were violative of the press freedom.
As per reports police have summoned some of the reported for writing stories against the ruling party on the land scam in the AP Capital region.
PCI Chairman Justice Chandramauli Kumar Prasad expressed concern over the summoning of four reporters and two desk journalists of Sakshi newspaper to Mangalagiri police station in Guntur.
