Over 300 Inmates, 100 Staff Contacts Virus

In a shocking development, 363 jail inmates and 102 jail staff in various jails in Maharashtra were infected with the ongoing pandemic. The Maharashtra health department confirmed the new infections in jails.
The Central jail tops the list with 181 jail inmates and 44 jail staff getting infected with the respiratory disease. Apart from this, several other jails in the state too reported fresh infections.
In a different development, the Bombay High Court which heard a bunch of petitions seeking various reliefs for prisoners with the spread of the dreaded virus directed the authorities to carry out random pandemic tests for the inmates.
