Privatization of Railways Boon or Ban?
By: Tupaki Desk | 12 Aug 2014 3:55 AM GMTIndian Railways is considered to be the most respectable business of Indian government. This particular department enjoys monopoly in India. Looks like, Indian Railways is getting privatized at huge pace. After giving IRCTC maintenance aspects to Google, Indian Government has now introduced private reservation counters.
Now, you need not go till the nearest Railway Station to get the reservation tickets. You can directly contact private agents and can get the tickets. Additional service charge will be imposed on top of the ticket price. In future, Indian Railways may remove ticket
counters in its stations as people can buy them from private agents and from the IRCTC website.
Analysts are considering this stage as the first stage of privatization. How far will this be a good for the society? turned out to be the point. For Indian Railways, the burden may get reduced but for people ticket prices may touch the skies in future.
