The protests called by the various unions and politicians against the union government’s decision to privatise the Historic Vizag Steel Plant is getting intense day by day.

The Ministers and MLAs of the ruling YSRCP have also joined the ongoing protests against the decision in the shore city Vizag. The all-party leaders have also took part in the protest and carried out a rally

The rally called by the all-party received a massive response with the likes of Minister Muthamsetti Srinivas, MP MVV Satyanarayana, and MLAs taking part. The members of the INTUC and AITUC trade unions have also taken part.

Amid growing protests, the Andhra Pradesh wing of the BJP has a completely different story. The AP BJP leaders are opposing the proposal and claiming that they were not aware of the decision.

Daggubati Purandeswari took a step ahead and said that, like others, she took got to know about the news when the Center announced it. She said that she will meet the Delhi leadership of the party and take the concerns of the people of Vizag to the centre.

From the day, the Centre announced that the Steel Plant will be privatised, several trade unions have been protesting in Vizag. With the political leaders too joining the protests, let us hope that the concerns of the state will reach the Union government.

It has to be noted that Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to urge him to rethink his decision of privatising Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL).

Earlier, TDP MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao has resigned from his post as a bid to protest against the decision. Several other TDP leaders have announced that they are ready to resign from their posts.
