Protests and agitations for Vizag Steel Plant not bothering Centre?

The port city Visakhapatnam has been witnessing protests against the Narendra Modi government's decision to privatise the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. Along with the employees, leaders of all the parties have also taken part in the protests.

When the protests and efforts to see that the Union Government takes back its decision on Visakhapatnam Steel Plant are underway, the Centre has reportedly taken a step ahead in this regard without caring much about the protests in the state.

Media reports are abuzz that the NDA government has carved a blueprint on how about going ahead with the privatisation of the Vizag Steel Plant which has a great history.

It has been widely reported that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government sought more details about the capacity of the Steel Plant, technical details of the plant, and assets of the plant.

After the union government gets its hand on the required details of the plant, the Centre is likely to call for the bids to privatise the plant, media reports claimed.

All the political parties in Andhra Pradesh have condemned the move. The AP wing of BJP said it will reach out to the Delhi leadership and made the Centre understand the history of the plant.

Going by these media reports it appears like, Vizag Steel Plant is on the verge of joining the list of agencies that will be privatised by the Narendra Modi-led Central government.

If the same happens, BJP must forget about its plan to spread its wings in Andhra Pradesh. AP voters are still not happy with the BJP for not providing special status for the state. The new decision might make things uglier for the party in the state.
