By: Tupaki Desk | 30 Oct 2020 6:46 AM GMTAs a bid to teach a lesson to the Dragon country China for its actions, the Union Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has banned 118 Chinese apps including PUBG, PUBG Mobile, PUBG Mobile Lite.
Following this, the banned apps have been removed from the Google Play Store and Apple's App Store earlier this month so that the game is not downloaded further for the new users.
Now the multinational technology conglomerate company Tencent Holdings Ltd based out of China, which runs the popular PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) game formally announced the shutdown of the game.
PUBG game took to Facebook to formally announce the shutdown of the servers in India."To comply with the interim order of the ministry of electronics and information technology dated 2 September 2020, Tencent Games will terminate all service and access for users in India to PUBG Mobile Nordic Map: Livik and PUBG Mobile Lite on 30 October 2020. The rights to publish PUBG Mobile in India will be returned to the owner of the PUBG intellectual property," the Facebook post read.
After the Indian Government banned the Chinese apps, the PUBG Corp has separated from the Tencent Games thus blocking the conglomerate company from distributing the app in India.
The Indian Government banned more than 150 Chinese apps after the violent standoff between the Chinese and Indian troops in eastern Ladakh which resulted in 15 Indian soldiers martyred.
