Telangana Government announced the list of general Holidays for the year 2016. Usually, General Holidays are applicable for Government institutions & Private organisations.

List of General Holidays for the Year 2016:

Sankranti: January 15th, Friday

Republic Day: January 26th, Tuesday

Maha Shivaratri: March 7th, Monday

Holi: March 23rd, Wednesday

Good Friday: March 25th, Friday

Babu Jagjvan Ram Jayanti: April 5th, Tuesday

Ugadi: Aprl 8th, Friday

Dr BR Ambedkar Jayanti: April 14th, Thursday

Sri Rama Navami: April 15th, Friday

Ramzan (Id-Ul-Fitr): July 6th, Wednesday

Following Day of Ramzan: July 7th, Thursday

Bonalu: August 1st, Monday

Independence Day: August 15th, Monday

Sri Krishna Astami: August 25th, Thursday

Vinayaka Chavithi: September 5th, Monday

Bakrid (Id-Ul-Azha): September 12th, Monday

Bathukamma: September 30th, Friday

Vijaya Dasami: October 11th, Tuesday

Moharam: October 12th, Wednesday

Other General Holidays which came on Sundays include Gandhi Jayanthi(Oct 2nd), Durgastami(Oct 9th), Deepavali(Oct 30th) and Christmas(Dec 25th). General Holidays under negotiable instrument act include Annual Closing of Accounts Day (April 1st) and May Day (May 1st). In addition, There are 21 optional holidays listed out by the Telangana Government.
