Gopichand to enter into Rajya Sabha!

Pullela Gopichand hasn't only made the Indians proud with victories at International Tourneys but also established himself as a great coach over the years. He is someone who moulded players like Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu into Champions.
Sources say, Both AP and Telangana Governments have recommended the name of Pullela Gopichand for Rajya Sabha seat in President's Quota. There is every chance of President picking up Gopichand for one among the 12 Rajya Sabha seats under his control.
Gopichand hails from Andhra Pradesh. He, however, got settled in Hyderabad itself because this is where his grew as a champion. So, CMs of Telugu States were keen to send him to the Upper House.
Already, Sportspersons such as Sachin Tendulkar and Maru Kom are serving as Rajya Sabha Members in Sports Quota. While Sachin's term will end on April 26th this year, The Champion Boxer would continue in the post for few more years.
