Every House In Pune Has A Car!

With the increasing number of vehicles, traffic is increasing on the roads and it is causing pollution as well. But still, people are showing interest in buying new vehicles. RTO officials in Pune recently made shocking revelations that the number of vehicles in the city is more than the city population. They are saying that Pune population is 35 lakhs ..but the number of vehicles in the city is 36.7 lakhs. RTO chief Babasahen Ajri said that there were 33.27 vehicles in 2017 and the number has gone up to 36.27 by March 31, 2018.
He said that city residents bought 5.89 lakh four-wheelers in the last year and the number has increased to 6.45 lakhs this year. He said 24.97 two-wheelers were registered in the last year and the number has gone up to 27.03 lakhs this year. He said that with the increasing dependency on cabs because of IT, Educational institutions people are also buying four-wheelers. He said that the increasing number of vehicles is giving rise to traffic issues and it is also causing pollution. He said that upcoming Metro Rail, new Outer Ring Road will ease the traffic in the city.
