Yesteryear Superstar late Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao is the pride of the Telugu people. After seeing greater heights in the entertainment field, he forayed into politics and brought special recognition to Telugu. Earlier, people used to mistake Telugu and Tamil as one as industries used to be combined in Madras.

After NTR entered politics and became the Chief Minister of the combined state, he brought a lot of welfare schemes to benefit the poor in the state. As he is the non-Congress Chief Minister in Andhra Pradesh, he locked horns with the Union government to fight for the interests of the state and the public.

As NTR is one of the few regional leaders who showed his capabilities at the national level politics, there has been a demand that the former Chief Minister should be honoured with the highest civilian award Bharat Ratna. The demand has been going on for many years.

Before the demand could come into effect, NTR's daughter Daggubati Purandeswari, who earlier served as the Union Cabinet Minister came up with a piece of good news. She said that the Reserve Bank of India has decided to print NTR's portrait on a Rs 100 coin. The Ex-Minister said the coin will be released soon.

The TDP which was founded could not honour him despite its close ties with the BJP which was in the ruling at the center. Back when BJP was in power, the TDP extended its support and in 2014, TDP formed an alliance with the saffron party Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP). Then many felt that the party might make efforts in honoring the legendary actor.

Daggubati Purandeswarim, who was in the grand old Congress, played a key role in setting up NTR's statue inside the Parliament complex as a token of honoring the late NTR, who is called Anna Garu by his fans and TDP supporters.

As she is with the Bharatiya Janata Party, the Union government now, Daggubati Purandeswari, the former Minister of State of Human Resource Development of India might have used her contacts and met the RBI administration and made them understand the importance and made them accept the request.
