Hurdles cleared for PV Sindhu's Appointment

AP Government Today amended the State Public Services Act only to appoint Olympic Silver Medallist PV Sindhu as Group-1 Officer.
AP (Regulation of Appointments to Public Services and Rationalisation of Staff Pattern and Pay Structure) Act, 1994 doesn't permit the appointment of a sportsperson in public service. So, Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu introduced the Bill which amends Section 4 of the Public Services Act. The Bill was passed unanimously in Assembly and Legislative Council on Tuesday.
PV Sindhu has been appointed in the cadre of Revenue Divisional Officer. Be prepared to see her as Deputy Collector very soon.
CM Chandrababu Naidu declared that PV Sindhu will be the Sports Ambassador of Andhra Pradesh. He promised Government Jobs for other top sportspersons hailing from AP.
Following the Olympic achievement, AP Government offered Rs 3 crore cash prize and 1,000 sq yard residential plot in Amaravati for PV Sindhu.
