Indian badminton player PV Sindhu created history by reaching the final of the Women's Single Event. She defeated Japan's Nozomi Okuhara in two straight sets 21-19, 21-10 to reach the Final. While the first set was won by the Indian within 30 minutes, Both players were at 10-10 in the second set at one point but thereafter Sindhu hardly gave any chance for her opponent to score even a single point. The Indian Star Player will play against Spain's Karolena Marin in the Final on Friday.

With this win, India is assured one more medal at the ongoing Rio Olympics. She will bag the Silver medal even if the result of the final doesn't go her way. This is for the first time an Indian has bagged a silver medal in Badminton. In London Olympics 2012, Saina Nehwal won a bronze medal.

All of a sudden, There is a massive turnaround for India. The other day, It was wrestler Sakshi Malik won a bronze. Today, Sindhu achieved silver. Let's be hopeful that either Sindhu or some other Indian athlete will bag a gold medal as well!
