No Place For PV Sindhu in KCR's List
By: Tupaki Desk | 18 May 2018 4:17 AM GMTTelangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao announced Cash Rewards to Sportspersons who won medals in the Commonwealth Games 2018. Rs 50 lakh for Badminton champ Saina Nehwal who won Gold Medal in the Singles apart from Team Gold, Rs 30 lakh for Shuttler N Sikki Reddy who won Team Gold and a Bronze in Women's Doubles, Rs 25 lakh for Boxer Mohammed Hussamuddin who won bronze in 56 kg category and Rs 20 lakh for Ruthvika Shivani who won Team Gold.
However, The name of PV Sindhu who was brought-up and continues to live in Hyderabad went missing in the cash rewards list of Telangana Government. This can be understood as she accepted the Deputy Collector's Post (Group-1 Officer Rank) offered by AP Government upon bagging Silver Medal in 2016 Rio Olympics. While Telangana Government offered Rs 5 crore cash reward and a residential plot, AP Government presented Rs 3 crore cash reward and a residential plot in New Capital.
KCR had already sanctioned 2 percent reservation for Sportspersons in State Government Jobs for encouraging Youngsters to choose sports as a career.
