Indian badminton star PV Sindhu emerges as the Most Searched Sportsperson of 2016, beating the like of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar. Thanks to her Rio Olympic feat!
According to review by Yahoo, Sindhu who is the Rio Olympic silver medallist stood as the top searched sportsperson of 2016. Gymnast Dipa Karmakar who missed froze medal at Rio Olympics by a margin of 0.50 points is the second most searched sportsperson in the country.
Superstars of Indian Cricket, MS Dhoni and Kohli settled with 3rd and 4th spots respectively. Olympic broze medallist Sakshi Malik occupies 5th Position.
The only foreign player to make it to the list is Argentina/Barcelona soccer star Lionel Messi (6th position). That's shows his popularity in India.
Wrestler Narsingh Yadav, Cricket God Sachin Tendulkar, Tennis sensation Sania Mirza and Saina Nehwal were at 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th spots respectively.
