Race for successor to Etela begins in Huzurabad
By: Tupaki Desk | 2 Jun 2021 6:52 AM GMTThe race has begun in the ruling TRS as to who will fill the gap left by party biggie Etela Rajender. With Etela set to join the BJP, several leaders are now trying to become TRS candidates from Huzurabad. If sources are to be believed, Dontu Ramesh, a senior leader from Huzurabad , is trying emerge as the contender.
Sources say that he has already gone to Pragathi Bhavan and met KCR. He was accompanied by Ministers Harish Rao, Gangula Kamalakar and Boyinpalli Vinod Kumar. Ramesh is a senior leader from Huzurabad and has been an Etela follower all along. But ever since Etele fell out with the TRS boss, Ramesh has been tipping off KCR about the latest developments in the constituency. Though the party has several other alternatives such as Rajya Sabha MP Captain Lakshmikanth Rao's wife in Huzurabad, KCR seems to be favouring Ramesh as he is from the BC community.
While Etela has not yet resigned from the party, everything is low key. Once Etela leaves the party either on his own or is removed from the party, Dontu Ramesh would be announced as the party's incharge for Huzurabad assembly constituency.
