Nina Davuluri was crowned Miss America on Sunday and this makes her the first Indian-American to achieve this feat. Soon, racist remarks have been floored on twitter with followers linking her to terrorism and asserting Miss America should be more 'American'.
However, Nina Davuluri dismissed the version of detractors by saying she viewed herself as first and foremost American.
Nina Davuluri is a native of Syracuse in New York. She wishes to be doctor and will be using the $50,000 scholarship she won at the beauty pageant to apply for medical school. The entire World has applauded the choice of Nina for the crown of Miss America.
