Raghunandan Rao Moves TS High Court To quash FIR Filed Against Him

Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) leader Raghunandan Rao, who emerged victorious in the Dubbaka by-elections moved the Telangana High Court to quash the First Information Report (FIR) filed against him.
In the petition, the MLA termed the media reports which claimed that money was found in the residence of his close aide before the elections as cooked up stories.
The Constitutional bench led by Justice Laxman which heard the petition filed by the MLA said that criminal cases filed against MLAs should be heard by the Chief Justice bench and issued directives to send the case to the CJ bench.
Days before the Dubbaka by-elections, the police have conducted raids in Raghunandan Rao's father-in-law residence and found Rs 18.67 lakhs cash in the raids.
Speaking after the raids, Siddipet Commissioner of Police Joel Davis reportedly said some of the aides of the MLA escaped with Rs 12.80 lakhs out of the seized money.
