Former Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Raghuram Rajan is one of the front runners to bag prestigious Nobel Prize in Economics. The name of Rajan featured in the list unveiled by Clarivate Analytics. Wall Street Journal reported that Rajan's name featured in the list for his contribution in Corporate Finance.

Raghuram Rajan served as RBI Governor from 2013 to 2016. He is the youngest and first non-westerner to become the chief economist at the International Monetary Fund.

Mr.Rajan deserves the credit for predicting the economic meltdown of 2008. He featured in Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People in the World 2016. He was a recipient of Fischer Black Prize awarded by American Finance Association.

The book 'I Do What I Do' penned by Raghuram Rajan created a sensation. Former RBI Governor clearly mentioned in it that he cautioned NDA Government that short term drawbacks of Demonetisation would overshadow its long term benefits.
