Raghuveera Reddy, former cabinet minister of United Andhra Pradesh, former MP and Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee, Chief, in an open letter asked both TDP chief, Nara Chandrababu Naidu and YSRCP chief, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, to boycott Rajya Sabha

He wrote, "Both TDP and YSRCP should be away from the Rajya Sabha Elections. Thus, expressing the state’s dissent against the Centre, in view of AP Special Category Status, implementation of the pledges made in the AP Reorganization Act 2014.

The people are protesting against the negligence and discrimination shown towards the State by the Centre. The state has a quota of 2 (against the 3 seats) Rajya Sabha seats this time around. Hence, the State Government can bring pressure on the Centre, by ignoring the Rajya Sabha Elections."

Congress doesn't have any chance to participate or win in the 3 seats and hence, may be there are suggesting such a ploy, is the version of few TDP and YSRCP cadre.

The Congress leader, has a point that to show Central Government, that people of Andhra Pradesh are unhappy, boycotting elections would be a good option. But that could leave us without strong voice in Rajya Sabha too.

Already, BJP has been very unhappy with TDP and YSRCP, targetting them as the enemies of AP and if these two parties decide to boycott, then it could make the government serious on both of them.

There are several reports that suggest that, if Modi wave is still alive all over the Nation, both parties do not want to be too aggressively against them, as they will lose out on votes and also, distinctive power in the Central Government, that can help them establish strong hold in the state.

Last heard, Chandrababu Naidu is looking to contest for all three available seats and win them, with the help of his MLAs. Let's see, what will be the reaction of the party leaders.
