Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley faced backlash for not admitting the cash crunch despite Banks and ATMs in the country aren't able to meet the demand. Claiming to have reviewed the situation, Mr.Jaitley said there is adequate currency in circulation and the temporary shortage is due to sudden increase of withdrawals in few areas.
Telangana IT Minister KTR claimed to have been hearing complaints about cash crunch in Hyderabad since the past few months. He advised RBI and Finance Ministry not to brush away an issue which is ruining people's faith in the banking system.
AP CM Chandrababu Naidu alleged majority of the banks are running out of cash every day. He warned future is going to be very serious if Government fails to pay salaries and pensions in time.
Even Minister Nara Lokesh expressed his displeasure on the Tweet of Arun Jaitley. He went on to say that the claims and actions of NDA Government doesn't match at all.
AP Congress Chief Raghuveera Reddy reminded CM Chandrababu Naidu that he was the chairman of the committee constituted by Centre to address the after-effects of demonetisation. He slammed AP CM and his Son for trying to throw the entire blame on the Centre. He even announced that protests will be staged at all the banks and ATMs in the state over cash crunch on April 21st.
