Why Is Raghuveera Jumping With Joy?

Know who is the happiest person after it became clear that the Congress will not have any pact with the Telugu Desam in Andhra Pradesh? It's without doubt former minister and PCC chief N Raghuveera Reddy. Raghuveera has always been a strong opponent of TDP-Congress alliance and felt that the TDP would completely devour the Congress in AP. It will weaken the party and reduce it to a mere skeleton. He has also opposed the leaving of several senior Congress leaders into the TDP. He is reported to have taken this issue with the Congress top leaders also. "How can we have a truck with the Congress when it is eating into out party and is encouraging defections from the Congress?" he is said to have asked the top leadership.

More important for him was that if there was an alliance with the TDP, he may have to loose Madakasira seat, his burrough. Rahuveera has always fought from this constituency and was deeply worried that he may have to forefeit it at the altar of the TDP-Congress alliance. Now that there are fewer possibilities of the two parties coming together, he is quite happy.
