Rahul Gandhi attacks UPA Government

"The ordinance need to be torn up and thrown away," he said, describing it as a complete nonsense and openly declared what the Centre has done is wrong. This came as a major embarrassment to Congress leadership and this is for the first time prince have given an anti-party statement.
Rahul Gandhi stressed the need to stop such ordinances to fight corruption in the country and opined compromises on such issues will be a big threat to the Nation's growth.
In July this year, Supreme Court delivered a judgement that convicted MPs and MLAs would be disqualified if the punishment awarded is equal to 2 years or more. Congress has decided to bring an ordinance to the protects its public representatives who are facing corruption charges.
