Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi kickstarted his 2,500 km long 'Kisan Yatra' on Tuesday with the sole aim of forming the next government in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh. The 'Deoria to Dilli Yatra' is an attempt to end Congress party's 27 year exiled from power in UP. In a span of one month, Rahul will cover 233 out of total 403 Assembly segments in the state.

Rahul Gandhi reached Deoria Today morning and began his padayatra by visiting the houses of the farmers. He had interactions with farmers on one-to-one basis and gathered the demands from them.

Congress Prince assured farm loan waiver and exemption of 50 percent power tariff to Uttar Pradesh farmers if voted to power in the upcoming 2017 Assembly Elections.

About 2,000 wooden cots were arranged by Congress Leaders at the Rudrapur ground in Deoria for seating purpose. Soon after Rahul's speech ended, Few party supporters and farmers began began picking up leftovers such as water bottles. When some of them got hold of the woolens cots, Several others followed suit and began fighting for them. Most of them even managed to take the cots to their homes for personal use. This dramatic turn came as a huge embarrassment to Rahul Gandhi & Congress Party.
