'Conditions Apply ' worries For Three Key Congress Leaders
By: Tupaki Desk | 20 Oct 2018 4:45 PM GMTThree Congress biggies are spending sleepless nights worrying whether the party would give them tickets this time. The reason? The conditions that the Congress has set for giving the tickets. If these conditions are applied with seriousness, then at least three or four key Congress leaders might not get tickets.
The AICC has put a condition that tickets would not be given to those candidates who have lost elections for three consecutive times. Similarly, those who lost the elections by over 30000 votes too would not bet tiekcts. Also, those who get less than 8000 votes too might not be nominated this time. If these conditions are applied, then Congress senior leader Shabbir Ali may not get a ticket to contest from Kamareddy. He had lost the elections in 2009, 2010 by polls and 2014 elections. Since he lost thice in a row, he may not be nominated. Similarly, Balkonda former MLA an former Government Whip Anil Kumar lost the elections by over 35000 votes. Another leader Mahesh Goud of Nizamabad rural too lost by over 30000 votes. So, if the rule is applied strictly, both these leaders might not be able to contest. Another senior leader Gangaram of Jukkal, who lost to Hanumanth Shinde, polled less than 8000 votes. As per the conditions of AICC, he becomes ineligible to contest.
But, TPCC sources reportedly told these leaders that these rules would not be implemented strictly. That's some consolation for these leaders. Yet, Congress being Congress, these leaders are spending sleepless nights worrying about whether they would get tickets or not.
