'We will grant Special Status to AP in 2019'

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, JDU supremo Sharad Yadav, CPI (M) and DMK Leaders took part in the public meeting organized by AP Congress Unit at Guntur seeking Special Category Status for Andhra Pradesh.
Rahul Gandhi alleged PM Narendra Modi had backtracked on Special Status for 10 Years despite promising before god in Tirupati. 'How can someone who spoke lies in front of God safeguard Hindu Dharam? If Special Status was granted, AP needn't repay 90% of fund it receives from Centre. Why does Ruling Party & Main Opposition weren't fighting for SCS? What package did Chandrababu & Jagan receive? They are scared of Narendra Modi. We won't relax until Special Status was accorded to AP. This isn't a gift but AP People's right. Then PM Manmohan Singh promised it in Parliament. If Congress comes to power in 2019, Special Status will be the first promise we would fulfill,' he promised.
On the other hand, UP Former CM Akhilesh Yadav extended support to Special Category Status. He demanded TDP to levy the condition that 'Special Status should be granted' for supporting NDA Candidate in Presidential Polls.
