Rahul Gandhi to be Congress chief in 2016

Is congress is going to get new party chief this year? Congress party senior leader Jairam Ramesh on Monday spilled beans about party vice president Rahul Gandhi becoming party chief in the coming days. There were demands from some sections in UP saying Rahul should be projected as the chief ministerial candidate for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections in 2017.
Virtually dismissing reports that Rahul would be projected as the chief ministerial candidate in the UP Assembly elections Jai Ram Ramesh said "Rahul Gandhi is MP from Amethi and Vice President of Congress. We all expect him to be the President of the Congress in 2016".
Jai Ram made the comments when asked about reports that the party's poll strategist Prashant Kishor has suggested that Rahul should be projected as the CM candidate in upcoming UP assembly elections. Ramesh evaded a direct reply, and instead said Congress leaders want Rahul to lead the party.
