One hug ... Rahul Gandhi has become famous. After his speech in Lok Sabha on the No Confidence Motion, Rahul Gandhi went and hugged PM Narendra Modi. This hug has given so much traction for the Congress president. But this time around, he wants to hug Chandrababu Naidu and he will do it with purpose.
Rahul Gandhi now wants friends in the runup to 2019 elections. He wants to increase his strength and cobble up alliances. He is finding that Mamtha Banerjee could upstage him and become a Prime Ministerial candidate herself. Sharad Pawar is a dicey player. With Karunanidhi gone, the DMK could rethink its alliances. So, that leaves Rahul Gandhi with not many friends. So, he wants to hug new friends. The only person who he can go to is Chandrababu Naidu.
Yes! Chandrababu Naidu is eager to find a foothold in Delhi and needs friends. Both SP and BSP would be more interested in UP and may not give time to him. In Assam, the AGP, which was once part of Opposition unity efforts, is now with the BJP. In Odisha, Navin Patnaik has given enough indications that he will sail with the BJP. So, Naidu is friendless at the national level. So, he too wants someone to hug.
With both Rahul eager to hug and Chandrababu longing to hug.... Expect a strange hug-fest soon.
