Is Congress Getting Ready For Leadership Change?
X
Who is most affected by the Lockdown and whose plans have gone rncompletely awry due to the Corona crisis? Of course, it Rahul Gandhi rnwhose plans have gone completely off track. Rahul Gandhi wanted to make arn comeback as the president of the Congress Party and the stage was set rnfor his grand return. The party was preparing ground for it. At that rnvery same time, the Corona struck and the whole country has gone under arn lockdown.

Now the Congress cannot announce a leadership change rnat such a critical stage. Rahul will not get the kind of publicity that rnhe likes to get because of the lockdown. Secondly, a lot of people mightrn feel that the Congress was interested more in regime change rather thanrn public health. This will damage the image of the party, many feel. rnHence, Rahul Gandhi's plans to take over the reins of the party have rnbeen put on hold. Interestingly, the veteran vs young guns fight is rnstill going on in the Congress Party and though Rahul wants several rnold-timers to retire gracefully, the latter are in no mood to do that. rnRahul Gandhi waited all these days for the seniors to make way so that rnhe can have a young team to work with. However, with the things not rnimproving and the seniors not ready to make way, Rahul wants to come rnback and take control of the party.

With Sonia Gandhi ailing and rnunable to focus on the party's affairs, Rahul Gandhi feels that he rnshould make his moves fast to stem the rot in the party. Rahul wants to rnbe more pro-active this time.
