Railway Employees Slam Sonia Gandhi On Shramik Express
By: Tupaki Desk | 7 May 2020 12:20 PM GMTSee who is replying to Sonia Gandhi's jibe on railway trains for the migrant workers! It's not the BJP nor Amit Shah or Modi. It is the railway employees union that has countered her comments on the Shramic special trains.
Sonia Gandhi has criticized the railways for charging from the migrant workers intending to go to their home states. Slamming her comments, the All India Railwaymen's Federation on Thursday said she was indulging in petty politics. The money was charged from the workers to prevent mad rush of passengers in the railway stations. In a letter to Sonia Gandhi on Thursday AIRF general secretary Shiv Gopal Mishra wrote: "I request not to destabilise a good system which is enabling migrants to return home in 115 special trains because of petty momentary political gains. He said over crowding could cause the spread of virus from the carriers to others. This is a perfect recipe for disaster. It is only because of this that the fares are being charged he said. As per the arrangement made by the government, 85 per cent of the fare is being born by the railways, while the state governments are bearing the remaining 15 percent.
This letter is being seen as a strong rebuttal to Sonia Gandhi and her comments. The railways has already ferried across 1.35 lakh persons in 140 shramic expresses across the country.
