Stampede at Rajahmundry Pushkar Ghat: 15 Killed!

A tragic incident took place on the first day of Godavari Pushkarams. A stampede which took place at the first gate of Pushkar Ghat in Rajahmundry led to the death of 15 people on Tuesday morning. At least 15 Others sustained injuries and the suffocation has caused severe inconvenience to the people.
Officials of State Government made elaborate arrangements for Godavari Pushkarams. Still, such an unfortunate incident took place on the very first day due to the heavy rush. Rescue operations were in full swing at the Pushkar Ghat and the injured were rushed to the Government hospital.
AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is reviewing the situation from Control Room. He opined that the stampede took place with the count of people rushing to Pushkar Ghat exceeded its actual capacity. He appealed people to use other Ghats as well so that such incidents don't repeat.
Usually, Pushkaralu which comes once in 12 years is considered to be very special this time from the astronomical point. This time it is Maha Pushkaralu which comes once in 144 years.
