Rajnath Singh Says India Wants To Restore Peace Along LAC

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh performed "Shastra Puja" at a military base in Darjeeling district and addressed the media after the Puja ceremony.
Speaking to the media, Mr. Singh said India wants to restore peace along the Line of Actual (LAC). However, he contended that the Indian armed forces are dedicated to protecting the territory.
The Siliguri base located in the Darjeeling district of West Bengal plays a crucial role in guarding the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China.
The border tensions between India and China along the LAC escalated quickly after the violent standoff in the eastern Ladakh region which resulted in 15 Indian soldiers martyred.
Since then, both sides have met for peace talks several times. However, the peace talks didn't yield a fruitful result so far.
